Our History

SJIM (SACMAG-JRI Ingeniería Minera) is born from putting together two firms with an outstanding trajectory in the engineering field: Grupo SACMAG, a Mexican firm with 65 years of experience in engineering, consultancy, supervision and project management; and Grupo JRI, Chilean firm with over 40 years of international experience specialized in mining engineering.

This partnership of the two companies was established on September 5th, 2025 after signing a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU), with the aim of establishing a company capable of combining local knowledge with international experience to offer world-class engineering solutions for the mining industry.

On February 24th, 2026, this initiative was formalized with the official incorporation of SACMAG-JRI Ingeniería Minera, S.A. de C.V. (SJIM), marking the beginning of a strategic alliance that brings together the strength and reputation of two leading companies in Latin America.

SJIM was established to address the challenges of an increasingly innovative, efficient, and sustainable mining industry, bringing together the expertise of Mexican and Chilean specialists, international methodologies, and extensive experience in highly complex projects.

Our company provides comprehensive solutions throughout the entire life cycle of mining projects, from conceptual and feasibility studies to basic and detailed engineering, geotechnical and geophysical services, BIM design, supervision and project management, sustainability, infrastructure, and environmental solutions.

Backed by Grupo SACMAG‘s experience, with six and a half decades driving infrastructure development in Mexico, and Grupo JRI‘s track record, recognized for its envolvement in some of Latin America’s most significant mining projects, SJIM brings together the best of both worlds to create value for our clients.
